You will be responsible for a Purchasing portfolio within the Sanitary Business Unit, under the supervision of the Senior Buyer, and will implement a 2- to 5-year strategy to optimize performance in terms of price, timeframe, quality and innovation.
You identify yourself as a true business partner with the R&D, Design and Marketing teams in order to best respond to the end customer, and you support company interests in your relationships with suppliers.
The Main Responsibilities Of The Position Are As Follows
Conduct technology and business intelligence for your portfolio so you can respond to company requirements and industry developments; adapt your purchasing portfolio strategy.
Benchmark and evaluate existing and potential suppliers worldwide, in function of quality, cost and volume objectives defined with BU management, via bids or sales appointments; develop solid partnerships with suppliers.
Negotiate with suppliers and set up contractual terms meeting objectives pre-defined with internal teams in conjunction with Legal.
Monitor supplier performance indexes monthly and implement improvement action plan if required; or intervene in case of claims with support from company departments such as Legal or Quality.
Manage your Purchasing portfolio budget and report on your work to the BU management and your manager.
Be in charge of monthly metrics updates (world raw material and cost of living prices, currency parities, etc.) and ERP system data.
Skills/Requirements
Advanced degree in business, management, economics or specialized in Purchasing; minimum 2 years’ significant experience in the industry and/or internationally
You speak English fluently and have a good command of SAP or another ERP
You can work independently and know how to prioritize
You know how to defend your decisions and have good negotiating skills
You are demanding with regard to the objectives you set
